Whether it was for the ministry, business, a social cause or domestic purposes, Bishop Dr. C. A. Holdsworth is a God-propelled man. There are many words we could ascribe to this servant of the gospel- passionate, humble, tenderhearted, just to name a few- but all these qualities are God-motivated.
He was called to the gospel at age 13 where he served at the Shiloh Apostolic Church, Minstreal Street as a vibrant and faithful youngster. Overtime, Holdsworth developed a deep and sincere concern for people's needs both spiritual and physical and bringing about a balance in the ministry of the gospel.
He continued to serve at the Shiloh Apostolic Church until 1981 where his passion to bring forth a wholistic approach to the ministry led to his start of the Greater Grace Temple Apostolic Church. Bishop and his wife, began in a basic school with very few members; today there is over 2000 members, six local branches (Half Way Tree, Papine, Harbour View, Portmore, Spanish Town and Kitson Town ) and three international branches ( two in New York and one in Canada)
Being a Bishop's daughter, his wife Pancilyne Holdsworth was very knowledgeable of the workings of the ministry and provided great inspiration, encouragement and support to her husband. She is what he calls, " a tower of strength." They both got married in their early twenties and had four beautiful children: Colleen, Connie, Robert and Cheryl.
Bishop Holdsworth was an electrician from age 15 to age 22. He was promoted to Management at the age of 22 where he served in the position for eight years. He later transferred to the business of Real Estate in 1979 spending 20 years in the field. The first three years were considered to be very challenging periods. With a wife and a family to support, he had to buy and sell in addition to real estate in order to make ends meet. With perseverance and hardwork, he pulled through those very difficult periods and eventually reaped the rewards. At age 52, he went into full time ministry.
Bishop Dr. C.A Holdsworth continues to serve at the Greater Grace Temple Apostolic Church as both pastor and overseer. He endeavors to be faithful and vibrant, bringing illumination to the truth of God's words and igniting his congregation for service in the kingdom of God.
